Retail center featuring the use of rock, metal, plaster and glass. Building design includes odd angles and multiple roof slopes. Construciton incorporated unique elements such as railroad ties, aluminum motorcycle crates, plate steel railing with exposed rust, exposed steel channels and concrete flooring.
An outdoor deck on top of a flat roof is utilized for special events. The store also features a glass elevator and a built-in aquarium.
Challenges included an extremely tight work site since the building covered most of the available ground area and a ground water issue from the adjacent property.
The project was completed within budget and on schedule for the planned grand opening.
