Description
Located on 23 acres, the UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine sits on the site of the former U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks AFB. The area is now a registered historic district.
This renovation project was built in several phases with major renovations to 7 separate buildings, and included:
- Main Building: administrative offices, meeting rooms, kitchenettes, large atrium lobby
- Library Building: Variety of meeting and study rooms, broadcast/recording room with permanent green screen and soundproofing, administrative offices, reading areas, computer lab
- Anatomy Lab and Research Building: anatomy lab with medical cadaver storage, treatment/exam rooms, breakout areas for extended learning, extensive A/V capabilities
- Student Center Building: cafeteria, auditorium, classrooms/labs, administrative offices
- New chiller plant
