Stone Ridge Market is a 200,000 SF+ retail center in San Antonio’s fast-growing north central corridor. The project consists of eleven shell buildings designed to create a sense of community. The center is highlighted by the use of rich finishes including flagstone walkways, outdoor dining spaces and natural elements such as wood, limestone and steel. Construction incorporated numerous sustainable features as well, including an irrigation cistern fed by the center’s condensate and native materials from surrounding communities. The market has a high end feel thanks to enhanced landscaping and the combination of natural elements and colors. The project site was on an extensive rock base and initial sitework required milling of over 400,000 cubic yards of material that was processed and used for fill.
In addition to the retail center, a 198,000 SF H-E-B Grocery Store was constructed at the same site. The store was managed by a separate project team and was completed on a Fast Track schedule of six months.
We can do that! When the Stone Ridge Market project required two tracks – to accommodate a 235,000 SF/11-shell-building retail center and a 198,000 SF H-E-B Grocery Store at the same site – we were able to assign separate project teams and keep everyone happy.
