Marian Hall, the original UIW student center, was demolished to make way for the new Student Engagement Center. The university had outgrown Marian Hall and wanted to centralize student services distributed across campus.
The Engagement Center will be a “one stop shop” for students and the “hub for student life on campus.” The new building will include:

- Post Office
- Print Shop
- Book Store
- Help Desk
- Student Services Offices
- Basement Pub
- Group Study Areas
- Social Spaces
- Student Organization Spaces
- Dining Facilities
- 800-seat ballroom
- 8 mid-size multipurpose rooms
