(Fort Worth, Texas) – Joeris General Contractors, Ltd., one of the most experienced K-12 builders in Texas, has been named general contractor for the construction of the newest elementary school in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. The 92,500 square foot elementary school is being built in the new Viridian housing development, a fast growing area in far north Arlington. The Viridian project will be Joeris’s 5th K-12 project in the Dallas/Fort Worth area since the company launched its DFW division in February 2012.
The new elementary school will include part ICF and part CMU with structural steel framing, and will serve approximately 870 students in grades kindergarten through 6th grade once complete. The state-of-the-art facility will have an administrative area, two-story classroom wing with 45 classrooms, library, cafeteria, fully functional kitchen, music hall, gymnasium and two outdoor playgrounds.
In keeping with the mission of the Viridian development, the elementary school’s design and construction will maintain a commitment to sustainability. Joeris has extensive experience in the construction of sustainable facilities that will be applied to this project such as separating recyclable materials, using irrigated water for dust control and other “green” practices.
The school is being built on 7.5 acres of land across the street from the Viridian Town Village, giving it a central location in the community. It is expected to be complete in time for the 2014-2015 school year.
