The Pearl Marketplace in San Antonio is set to become an extraordinary foodie destination with its 55,000 SF transformation of a historic warehouse building. Led by two Austin-based architects, Clayton Korte and Baldridge, the project promises to be a culinary delight that seamlessly blends the history of the building with a modern aesthetic.
The heart of the marketplace is the “open market,” featuring several restaurant counters with open-concept designs inspired by a Guadalajara street market. Here, visitors can experience a mini high-end grocery with offerings that are prepped, dry-aged, and baked on-site, along with endless grab-and-go options. The centerpiece of the space is a gorgeous oval bar standing free in the center of the market, perfect for socializing and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.
In addition, Baldridge is designing two restaurants housed under the same roof, bringing diversity to the culinary experience. The overall design concept honors the history of the building while adding a new dimension of beauty to the Pearl as a food destination.
