Building the Future of Learning: Joeris and Higher Education Construction
At Joeris, our expertise in higher education construction allows us to create spaces that foster innovation, creativity, and academic success. We see ourselves as more than just a construction company.
More Than Just Buildings
Our approach to higher education construction goes beyond simply constructing buildings. We partner with universities and colleges to understand their unique needs and vision. We believe in a collaborative process, working closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure that the final product reflects the institution’s values and goals.
For example, our recent renovation of Dubuis Hall at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) showcases our commitment to preserving history while embracing modern learning needs. This 24,500-square-foot project involved a complete overhaul of the oldest residence hall on campus, originally built in 1928.
Honoring History, Embracing the Future
The UIW project presented a unique challenge: how to modernize the building while respecting its historical significance. Our team meticulously restored original features like marble floors, wood doors, and mosaic tile. At the same time, we integrated modern amenities like glass-enclosed study lounges, a state-of-the-art elevator, and enhanced security features.
“When you walk into Dubuis Hall, you are invited into a social hub where students live, work, eat, and gather,” describes the project manager. This perfectly captures our goal in higher education construction: to create spaces that are more than just functional – they are vibrant hubs of student life.
A Commitment to Quality and Collaboration
Joeris’ commitment to excellence is reflected in every higher education construction project we undertake. Our team of experienced project managers, estimators, and superintendents work closely together to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
We also prioritize clear communication and collaboration throughout the construction process. Whether we’re working with university administrators, faculty, or students, we believe that open dialogue is key to delivering a successful project.
“Joeris works more like a committed business partner than a contractor, which makes them special,” says Phillip W. Lopes, Jr, Associate Vice President of Capital Planning and Facilities at the University of the Incarnate Word. “It’s the best of both worlds.”
Investing in the Future of Learning
At Joeris, we believe that higher education construction is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about creating spaces that inspire learning, foster collaboration, and prepare students for the future. We understand that every detail matters, from the functionality of classrooms and labs to the overall aesthetic that creates a welcoming and engaging learning environment.
We’re partners in building the future of education. We believe that by investing in our students and institutions, we’re investing in a brighter future for all.
