  • Project Scope 127,739 SF Annie Purl Elementary School
  • Completion Date September 2017
  • Owner Georgetown Independent School District
  • Architect Huckabee Architects

The New Annie Purl Elementary School is a two-story, 127,739 SF educational
building with facilities for Pre-K through 5th grade. These facilities will include classrooms,
kitchen, cafetorium, gym, library, art and music rooms. Unique custom learning platforms and
maker spaces will be incorporated into every grade level. Interior design features include
resinous translucent wall panels, custom glass handrail systems, and tubular skylights.

Exterior details include smooth stone, chopped stone, brick veneer, metal wall panels along with
metal shingles, condensate drain collection system, curved glass features, stamped and stained
concrete. The school will also have an outdoor patio area, soccer field, walking trail, playscape,
and basketball goals.

The new Annie Purl facility was constructed adjacent to the original Annie Purl and is a
replacement facility for the namesake building, which was built in 1953. The new Purl
Elementary will initially house Purl’s current grades PK-2, and will have expanded capacity to
absorb grades 3-5 from the current Williams Elementary School, thus eliminating the District’s
last elementary school pairing.
