The North East ISD Career and Technical Education Center went under substantial renovations and additions totaling 54,600 square feet of work. This project was made up of four primary components; renovating building one into the CTE Center Medical Trades Program, providing selected renovations for displaced elements of Family Support Services Program, renovating building three into the CTE Center Construction Trades Program, and renovating the athletic facility into the CTE Center Welding Program.
Building one made up 14,800 SF of the total project. The Medical Trades Program consists of multiple specified programs such as the Emergency Medical Technical Program, Certified Nurse Aid Program, and Dental Assistant Program, among others. In addition to renovating this building for each of these medical programs, the building also included general program support areas, such as a teacher workroom and conference room, as well as relocated facilities for the Family Support Services Program.
Building three work included renovating the CTE Academy Construction Trades Program and adding an outdoor covered pavilion. These two elements made up 36,100 SF of the total project. In addition to the general support areas, this building now includes space for the Plumbing Program, HVAC Program, Electrical Program, and both Advanced and Introductory Construction Programs.
Lastly, the 3,700 SF athletic facility was renovated to house the CTE Welding Program. This area now includes a welding lab, welding classroom, and tool storage area.
