The new 118,500 SF Redbud Elementary School located in Round Rock, Texas, was part of the district’s 2018 bond which will help alleviate overcrowding at the nearby Linda Herrington Elementary School campus.
Redbud is the district’s 35th elementary school, and the location inspired its name. It is near Old Settlers Park, home to numerous redbud trees.
Redbud Elementary School features a two-story building with classrooms, a professional learning center, makerspace, visual arts, music classrooms, a gymnasium, dining commons, a community room, and collaboration areas.
The architecture of the new school focused on a Biophilic Design to create a learning environment for students that resembles nature and fosters creativity. The rich Biophilic Design characteristics influence the nature-centric features throughout the school. These unique elements positively impact the student’s environment and well-being, promoting engagement in their individual learning experience.
